Target is selling the HomePod for the lowest price we’ve ever seen
Target is knocking the HomePod’s price down to $200, and that price that sounds right on target.
There has literally never been a better time to buy a HomePod. Recently, Apple released a big patch that made up for a number of the disappointments at the device’s launch, and today Target is knocking down the HomePod’s price to $199.99. That’s a full $50 down from the $250 Apple has been selling it for since April. It’s also a full $149 down from the $349 it sold for at launch, and it’s a price that’s much more in line with what you’re getting with Apple’s smart speaker.
If you’ve been on the fence about getting one, this is a good price. I’ll even go so far as to say that this is the price Apple probably should have sold it for at launch. Our own Michael Simon had a similar take earlier this year.
The HomePod now lets you make calls, set timers, add calendar events, and call of music and playlists straight just by using Siri. It also lets you search for songs based on lyrics, and it’s got a phenomenal sound system that makes your music sound intense regardless of where you’re standing in a room. As an apartment dweller, my only real complaint is that its subwoofer is a little too good, to the point that I worry that my neighbors can hear the HomePod thumpin’ two floors down even at a reasonable volume. (And sadly, there’s no real equalizer.)
